Making Handmade and Homemade Christmas Gifts

Thinking about some ways you can save money this Christmas. I know I have. The great thing is that I'm pretty industrious and I love making crafts, so I'm planning on making handmade and homemade Christmas gifts for many people on my list this year. Most people really enjoy getting homemade gifts anyway, and I have a lot of fun making them.

Of course, many people wonder how they can make gifts of their own this year, so I thought I'd share a few of the ideas I'm planning on using myself. Here's a look at some good handmade and homemade Christmas gift ideas that I've come up with, and hopefully you'll add some of your own ideas too to help the rest of us out.

Tasty Homemade Cookies - It's pretty easy to make cookies, and many people don't have the time to make homemade cookies themselves. I spend a lot of time making big batches of cookies around Christmas anyway, so I like boxing up some in tins, and giving them as a special homemade gift to some of the elderly people in my neighborhood. They always love getting my cookies.

Meal in a Basket - Another simple gift that you can make yourself is a "meal in a basket." The way I do it, is I make up large amounts of pasta sauce, I can it, and then I put a jar in a basket along with a nice box of pasta. It makes a great gift of a meal that takes barely any prep time.

Handmade Stationary - Stationary is pretty expensive, and if you know some people on your list that enjoy writing, consider making some stationary for them. You can make your own stationary with different designs without spending a lot of money. It's pretty easy with a computer and a nice printer, and you can personalize the stationary very quickly.

Hot Chocolate - There is nothing better around Christmas in those cold winter months than a nice cup of hot chocolate. Homemade hot chocolate is simply the best, and it makes a great gift. You can easily mix up a jar of hot chocolate to give as a gift. You'll just need some milk powder, cocoa, coffee whitener, sugar, and mini marshmallows. All they'll need to do is add some water.

These are just a few of the handmade and homemade gifts I love to make and give to my loved ones. They always get rave reviews too. Maybe you'll want to use one of these ideas yourself. Of course, you can add your own ideas here too. Let us in on some of the gifts you make yourself.
